I am not one who particularly enjoys cold weather. However, I would love to experience a true Blizzard. By blizzard, I do not refer to a foot of snow. I am referring to getting a minimum of 2+ feet of snow in one falling...preferably 3 or more feet. Take the Blizzard of '66 for example, which had over 5 feet of snow in a couple days time. I know it would cause a lot of inconvenience and could be deadly to some, but I would love to be able to experience that much snow at one time (plus you would definitely get some days off of work).
Look at these photos (taken from syracuse.com) and tell me you couldn't have some fun in that much snow. Is this something you would like to experience at some point in your life or would you rather do without it?

I WANT IT! I WANT IT!
Definitely.
Yeah, if we don't experience it, then we can't sit back with our kids some day and tell them the story about the blizzard of 09. Keep your fingers crossed guys.
If you want to experience a blizzard you should live in Houghton Michigan for a time...I am pretty sure I have experienced a few...how about 38 inches in one day or 37 continuous days of snow fall.
crazy snow...just crazy
I was a kid in Syracuse and it was great. For those who had to work, not so much. The city was shut down for almost a week.
But it was a blast as we dug tunnels up to our roofs! We had bigger storms since then but now we can manage them better!
I did live through this storm. I was returning to SUNY College at Brockport, NY from Connecticut. The New York throughway was closed so we decided to take the 5 hour train ride. It took about 13 hours to get us to Rochester. Once in Rochester, we had to stay at the bus station for 2 nights because there was no transportation to Brockport because there were 20 ft drifts. When we finally did get to brockport, we were dropped off on the main road and had to walk with our luggage through the thigh high snow. Once there, we learned our classes had been cancelled -- In fact, they did not have classes until the next Monday! It was pretty fun to be at the college with so few students.
