Bailey

On Friday, Bailey seemed to be rather sick and was throwing up quite a few times. Wanda took her in and there appeared to be some sort of blockage in her stomach. We paid for the diagnosis and then took her to the emergency vet to have surgery on her stomach to remove the blockage. We proceeded to pay 4 times the amount of the initial diagnosis and then had to leave her overnight for the surgery. We got the results last night and found out that once they got in there they did not find any sort of blockage. There was a ligament that was tight that may have caused the blockage, but they don't know for sure. The report even says that they don't know if we will ever know what was causing the blockage.

We went this evening to pick her up from the vet. She came out of the surgery just fine. She is doing ok, but she will be recovering for the next 10 days or so. It is good to have her home again.

Summer Hours

One of our benefits each summer is getting to leave work 3 hours early on Fridays. I thought this started the Friday after Memorial day. Imagine my suprise when I found out it started today...aka in 1 hour! I do have some issues with how it is implemented, but I don't want to go into that. One way or another, I am looking forward to getting off at 1pm every Friday over the summer!

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

TV Show Season Finales

Ok. I have a lot of "Fall" shows that I like to watch...many of which have come to an end for the season. So many of them leave you a bit frustrated/confused...but I would venture to guess that it is a technique used to get you to come back next season.

*** NOTE - There may be some spoilers in the text below. If you haven't watched some of these shows yet and plan to then you have been warned. ***
  • Lost - Nothing unexpected as you are confused after every show anyways! I just hope we get some answers next season since it is the last season!
  • CSI - Main character dies, but that didn't shock me too much.
  • CSI Miami - Main character dies (or at least I am assuming he/she is dead). Will be interesting to see how the show handles it next season if they are in deed dead.
  • NCIS - One main character died and 3 other main characters future is a bit unknown to the viewers! This is one of my favorite shows and I am very concerned with what the next season will be like!
  • Numbers - A bit confused how it will play out after what happened with the last episode.
I am pretty sure all of those shows are returning next season, but they sure know how to leave the viewers in a state of confusion for a few months!

"Mr. Muscles" goes to the gym

Wanda and I decided to get a gym membership at Snap Fitness. I am hoping to use this at least a few times a week (it doesn't take very long) if not more. I am wanting to lose a little weight, but on top of that there are a few areas I am wanting to work on...particularly with my arms/shoulders.

For example, when I play volleyball my arm (I believe it is actually the rotator cuff) can really begin to hurt (primarily indoors where we are hitting harder than outdoor). Thus, I would like to work on the rotator cuff muscles a bit to try and strengthen it up.

At the same point, I am wanting to strengthen the muscles I use for Archery in order to improve my accuracy. As many of the guys know, these are muscles you don't typically use and thus doing some extra work to strengthen them is a good thing.

I am looking forward to working out more and feeling better physically...as long as I can stay motivated to go to the gym.

BTW - I have to note that "Mr. Muscles" is not a name that I came up with for myself. I honestly don't believe the name fits me very well, but it is a brief nickname that I got playing volleyball once a couple years ago at the Marie Sandvik Center a couple years ago. Read Allison's comments for more details on how I got the name. (Thanks for clearing that up Allison)

Suprise for my Mom

I was going to volunteer on Saturday with Urban Homeworks. That was the plan until 1am when Wanda and I were talking (I didn't get home till 12:45 or so). On Friday morning my Dad called and was wondering if we would be available to meet them in St. Cloud for lunch for Mother's Day. I told him that Wanda had to work till 1 and that I was going to be volunteering at Urban Homeworks. Well...when Wanda and I were talking at 1am, Wanda said I should cancel on Urban Homeworks and go to St. Cloud and suprise my Mom. That was a great idea so that is what I did. I talked to my Dad and he told me where they were going to be. I did manage to suprise my mom as she did not think I was going to be able to make it.

It was really great to be able to see my parents and converse with them a bit...even if it was only for a few hours.

Mom - Happy Mothers Day. I love you!
(Dad - I love you too)

Busy Busy Busy

I have managed to get myself very busy yet again. I have been doing something every day this week...which is my own fault. Here's what my evenings consisted of the last few days and next few days.

Monday - Picnic w/ Cell Group
Tuesday - Church Meeting
Wed - Archery w/ Matt and prayer meeting for Church
Thur - Archery w/ Matt & Dan
Fri - Video games at church
Sat - Urban Homeworks.

While I enjoy each and every one of these events, I think I will have to slow down a bit more next week. Hmm...Anyone have some fun suggestions on something I can do for my wife as I haven't spent a lot of time with her lately?

Ready to go

The dog is at the hotel, the truck is cleaned (somewhat) and packed (still needs gas). I think we are ready to depart our house and head to camp!

For those coming with, have a safe trip and we will see you out there.
For those staying here, have fun and stay safe.
For those who don't know what I am talking about, post a comment :)
