MN Nice

Here in MN we have a phrase called "MN Nice". Our church is going to be doing a sermon series titled "No More MN Nice" starting September 13th. Get more information here: http://nomoremnnice.com.

Also, if you are on Facebook, take the "Are You MN Nice" quiz: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=126336325933

One of the many uses for Duck Tape

Yesterday while in our Adult Sunday School class, one of the couples had their baby with them. They were attempting to swaddle the baby and in the process the baby started to cry.

One of the guys at their table, also a father, quickly said "Where's the duck tape?". Everyone was a bit shocked and he quickly clarified by saying "for the swaddling!".

We all got a good laugh.

Cozumel Day 7

Yesterday was the last day in Cozumel. We slept in till about 9 and got ready for the day. We started packing and then decided to go eat breakfast at the buffet in the italian restaurant. After breakfast we returned to the room to finish packing. We then sat on the patio for a while, read a little, slept a little, and overall just relaxed in the room till about noon. We had to check out by noon, but we were allowed to stay at the hotel and use it until we needed to leave. We didn't need to be at the airport till 2pm so we had around 2 hours to waste. We sat in the lobby, played some cards, ate some lunch, and then headed for the airport.

Everything went smoothly at the Cozumel airport. We arrived in Dallas a bit early which was nice, however someone decided not to board their plane in Dallas but their baggage was already checked in and on the plane. International laws do not allow this so they had to do a baggage search to remove the bags from the plane. Because this plane was at our gate, we ended up waiting about 30 to 45 minutes on the plane waiting for the gate to open. Wanda and I were sitting in the very back of the plane (3rd to last couple to get out of the plane). This meant we needed to hurry to catch our next plane. Since it was an international flight, we had to go through customs, pickup our bags, check the bags in again, and then proceed to our gate in another terminal. When we got out of the plane we had about 1 hour and 15 minutes before our next flight left. We managed to get to the plane just in time. We were the last passengers on the plane and about 3 minutes after we got on, they shut the doors of the plane. We are thankful we got on the plane, but we were really hungry as we did not manage to get anything to eat in the Dallas airport like we had planned.

Everything else went fine on the flight back. Our pilot from Dallas to Minneapolis was probably the best one of all of them as his takeoffs and landings were very smooth. Dan picked us up and was nice enough to take us to a drive-thru so we could get some dinner. We got home, ate dinner, and went to bed.

I highly recommend the resort we stayed at. The service was great, the people were very friendly, and the food was wonderful. I have nothing negative to say about the resort. I need to thank my 2 co-workers, John and Michelle, for both recommending this place to me.

We enjoyed our trip and are very glad we went. It was a much needed vacation. My favorite part of the trip would have to be the relaxing, the food, and the pool. Wanda's favorite part was swimming in the ocean for the first time and snorkelling while out there.

The Cozumel trip is over, but we still have the day off today. I do not have any pictures from yesterday as it was mainly travel. Hope you enjoyed our daily recaps and photos of our trip.

Cozumel Day 6

Today we did not make any plans and instead laid at the pool most of the day. We got down there around 9:30, ate breakfast and lunch, and then left around 4:30 when we left. We got a little (or a lot) red but we were using suntan lotion. It was a very relaxing day just sitting in/by the pool. I did manage to get in some volleyball...even though it was in the water. They told me to play at the C level which was hard for me since I am at more of an upper B level. I wish they would of had an actual sand volleyball court as that would of been a lot of fun. We came back to the room to shower and get cleaned up. We then went down to take some photos before going to dinner out by the pool. Wanda had a top sirloin steak and I had a T-Bone steak. Both were very good. We then came back to the room to continue relaxing for the rest of the evening.

I have tried most of the drinks people have recommended, however inbetween those I have probably drank around 2 gallons of unsweetened tea. I'm sure I'll have a few more tomorrow before we leave.

Well I am hijacking Dustin's blog. Here it is the last night that we are here and I have come to realize that I love winter even more. If you ever hear Dustin saying anything about another vacation. Please ask how cold it will be there? I also realized that I like clouds, weird yes but I do like them. It seems that they hide the sun which in turn is not as hot. You will all have to tease Dustin in the fact that he drank more than I did, including the ice tea. Here on our trip it seems that we were always having something in our hands if not drinking, then we were eating. Tonight I told Dustin to have a spinich salad as it was healtier for him he said he was on Vacation and he didn't need to....

We did not take a lot of photos today since all we did was relax at the pool, but we did manage to take a few.
