Driving in Silence

While you may think this post has something to do with me talking less when Wanda is trying to read in the car, that is not what it is about :). However, in those situations I am sure she would love for me to just drive in silence. I love you honey!

For the last month or two my truck has gotten noisier and noisier while driving. This was particularly noticeable when driving at higher speeds (90+ mph). I finally took my truck to the mechanic and they told me a wheel bearing was bad (almost to a very dangerous level). They fixed it for me and now my truck is quite quite while driving which is kinda nice. I didn't think too much of it at first, but it did seem to be getting worse (which it was) so I am thankful that I got it changed and did not have any incident before getting it fixed.

PS - If you don't know me well enough, I was joking about the 90+ :). It got noticabley louder when you got anywhere over 30+ miles an hour. Driving 65 mph got to be quite noisy. At 90+ the tire probably would have fallen off.

Website Updates

I was alerted the other day that my website and blog seemed to have disappeared (thanks Rachel). I was not completely surprised. I have been working with my hosting company to upgrade me to their newest control panel since I was on a plan that was stuck in maintenance mode and not getting the benefits of the new functionality and technology (and we all know how much I like the new technology). This meant that they had to move all my websites (6 in total) from one server to another. In doing so, some things broke. My website had an issue that I could easily fix. My blog completely disappeared for about 2 days but I got it fixed now (obviously). Most of my other websites were not affected (that I know of).

I am also working on promoting a new version of the Xpedition website. It should be live in the next couple days (assuming my Host does their part). I am excited to be able to put out this new site as I think it will offer us better communication and a better ability to RSVP for events in light of not having everyone in the same classroom on Sunday mornings.

I am not 100% sure but I think the sites are responding faster now on the new server too which is good. Let me know if you have any issues with any of my websites. One way or another, I am very glad to be on the new system as it will allow me to control things a lot more without having to rely on the host making all the changes. Plus, I can use some newer technologies that I was not able to use on the old server.

Hope all the technical words in there did not confuse anyone. I tried to keep it easy to read/understand.
